The directive, issued on Monday, mandates that all police personnel previously attached to politicians, businessmen, and other private individuals must be withdrawn and returned to regular policing duties.

In a statement released through the Police Force Public Relations Department, the IGP said the decision is part of ongoing reforms to strengthen internal security operations, improve manpower deployment, and ensure that officers are available for critical assignments across the country.

Egbetokun emphasized that any officer found flouting the order by continuing to provide illegal VIP escort services will be arrested, disciplined, and possibly dismissed.

He added that the Force will intensify monitoring nationwide to ensure full compliance, urging the public to report any breach of the directive.

The IGP reaffirmed that the withdrawal of police escorts from private individuals will boost operational capacity and help restore public confidence in the Nigeria Police Force.
