Malami, who served as Nigeria’s chief law officer from 2015 to 2023 under ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, disclosed the development on Friday via his official Facebook page.

In his statement, the former minister confirmed that he had received a formal invitation from the anti-graft agency and expressed his willingness to cooperate fully.

“I would like to inform my family and friends that I have been summoned by the EFCC to provide clarification on certain matters. As a law-abiding and patriotic citizen, I am determined to honour this invitation without any hesitation,” he wrote.

Malami added that his decision to comply aligns with the values he has upheld throughout his public service career.

“I believe in the importance of honesty, integrity, and accountability in governance; these are principles I have supported and maintained over the years,” he stated.

The EFCC has yet to release details regarding the specific allegations or issues for which Malami is being questioned.
