This was made known in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, who also serves as the Secretary of the Publicity and Communication Sub-Committee of the National Convention Organising Committee (NCOC).
Ologunagba dismissed reports suggesting that the convention had been postponed or cancelled, describing them as false and politically motivated.
He alleged that some individuals spreading misinformation were being sponsored by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to disrupt the PDP’s internal democratic process.
“The 2025 National Convention of our great party remains fixed for November 15 and 16, 2025, in Ibadan, Oyo State. We urge all members, delegates, and stakeholders to disregard fake news circulated by agents of confusion,” Ologunagba said.
A faction of the party led by Abdulrahman Mohammed had earlier claimed that the proposed elective convention was cancelled following two separate court judgements halting the event.
On Tuesday, the Federal High Court, in a suit filed by former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido, ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to monitor or recognise the convention. This followed an earlier ruling on October 31 by Justice James Omotosho of the same court, which also restrained the PDP from proceeding.
However, an Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan countered the orders on November 4, ruling that the PDP could proceed with its national convention as planned.
The party leadership maintains that the Ibadan convention remains valid and that all preparations are ongoing to ensure a successful event.
