Amupitan made this known on Tuesday during a meeting of the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES) ahead of the polls.

According to him, the affected polling units have no registered voters, making it impossible for any voting activity to take place.

“The Commission plans to deploy 24,000 personnel for the election. Voting will be conducted in 5,718 out of the 5,720 polling units in the state; the remaining two polling units have no registered voters,” Amupitan said.

Representing the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, at the meeting, Mr. Hassan Abdullahi assured that security agencies are fully prepared to ensure a peaceful and credible election.

He said, “We have put in place enhanced surveillance, deployed sufficient security personnel, and improved intelligence gathering to prevent any attempt by disruptive elements or desperate politicians to undermine the electoral process.”

Abdullahi emphasized that political parties and their supporters must uphold peace and avoid violence, warning that any act of disruption during the election would attract a firm response from security agencies.

“The government remains committed to protecting the sanctity of the electoral process and will not tolerate any form of violence,” he added.
