The governor’s warning specifically targets individuals who have encroached on Lot A of the Obagie Acquisition area in Benin City, popularly known as Coral City.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, Okpebholo described the declaration as a final notice to all land speculators and illegal developers. He cautioned them to desist from buying, selling, or constructing on the disputed land.

The governor reaffirmed that the entire Obagie Acquisition remains the property of the Edo State Government. However, he disclosed plans to return Lots B, C, and D to their rightful owners as part of efforts to regularize land administration and promote fairness.

“This notice serves as a strong and final warning to land grabbers and encroachers on government lands in Lot A (Coral City) and other parts of the state,” the statement read. “Any building erected on the designated area will be demolished, and those involved will face prosecution.”

Governor Okpebholo emphasized that his administration is committed to fairness, accountability, and transparency in managing land ownership and allocation across the state.
