The election, which was hotly contested across the 23 LGAs of the state, highlighted the growing political shift in Rivers State, with APC consolidating its influence in both rural and urban constituencies.

  1. PDP Wins (3 LGAs):
  2. Ogba-Ndoni-Egbema LGA – 51,051 votes
  3. Port Harcourt LGA – 235,054 votes
  4. Obio/Akpor LGA – 328,888 votes
  5. APC Wins (20 LGAs):

  21. Eleme LGA – 77,452 votes
  22. Degema LGA – 61,536 votes
  23. Ahoada West LGA – 84,125 votes
  24. Akuku Toru LGA – 63,593 votes
  25. Ahoada East LGA – 54,509 votes

The outcome cements APC’s dominance across most of the state, leaving PDP with victories only in its traditional strongholds of Port Harcourt, Obio/Akpor, and Ogba-Ndoni-Egbema.

Political analysts say the results mark a significant turning point in Rivers State politics, as APC’s widespread win could influence both the state’s 2027 governorship race and broader alignments ahead of the next general elections.

Meanwhile, both parties have expressed mixed reactions. While the APC hailed the election as a demonstration of Rivers people’s trust, the PDP has raised concerns over alleged irregularities in some LGAs.

The election further highlights the growing rivalry between the APC and PDP in Rivers State, setting the stage for more intense political battles in the near future.
