Anambra’s Onyinyechi Basil Emerges Miss Universe Nigeria 2025 Queen

The glamorous finale was held on Saturday night at the Convention Center of Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, with Anthony Abraham and Victory Wilson as hosts.

According to KogiTribune, 22 contestants were initially unveiled on August 26, but the number was narrowed down to the top 10 and later the final five. The finalists included Miss Ogun, Miss Lagos, Miss Akwa Ibom, Miss Anambra, and Miss Bayelsa.

Basil impressed the judges across multiple stages—swimwear, traditional costume, evening gown, and the question-and-answer session—before clinching the crown in the third edition of the national competition.

She succeeds Chidimma Adetshina, the outgoing titleholder.

Other winners on the night included:

  1. Damilola Bolarinde (Miss Lagos) – 1st Runner-Up
  2. Fortune Kurobo (Miss Bayelsa) – 2nd Runner-Up
  3. Irene Ikediashi (Miss Ogun) – 3rd Runner-Up
  4. Idah Eno (Miss Akwa Ibom) – crowned Miss Supranational Nigeria 2025

As Miss Universe Nigeria 2025, Onyinyechi Basil will represent the country at the 74th Miss Universe pageantscheduled for November 20, 2025, in Bangkok, Thailand.

She will also receive a cash prize, brand endorsements, training opportunities, material gifts, and paid appearancesas part of her victory package.

The pageant, which has grown in popularity, continues to serve as a platform to showcase Nigerian beauty, talent, and culture on the global stage.
