The confirmation came after the House Committee on Rules, Business and Government House presented its report, which contained 11 findings and one recommendation that the lawmakers unanimously adopted.

Speaker Blessing Agbebaku, while announcing the confirmation, stated that all the nominees were indigenes of Edo State, competent and qualified to serve in the executive council. He urged them to work in synergy with Governor Okpebholo to advance development across the state.

“I charge the new commissioners to be proactive and collaborate with the governor to ensure that Edo State moves forward,” Agbebaku said. However, he raised concerns over gender imbalance, pointing out that only one of the nominees was female.

Those confirmed by a voice vote include Nosa Adams, Yakubu Oshiorenua, Felix Akhabue, Prof. Omorodion Ignatius, Ohimai Ehijimetor, Eugenia Abdallah, Godwin Afekokhe Eshieshi, and Prince Kassim Afegbua.
